Dinner at Hasu Japanese Izakaya and Grill

There are many delicious places to eat Japanese food in Torrance. The other day, I went to “Hasu” located in North Torrance, CA. Hasu has been around for a very long time but was closed for a while due to renovations of the building. Prior to its reopening, Hasu reminded one of a traditional yakitori/izakaya that someone would find in Japan. But after its reopening earlier this year, Hasu has changed its image to a more modern and upscale restaurant with the most delicious foods.

Each dish was prepared with delicacy with great attention to the small details. Although it has not veered away from its yakitori/izakaya image, I really feel it has upgraded each dish to meet the highest standards of traditional Japanese cuisine.

You can enjoy Wasabi Salt and Kizami Wasabi at Hasu. Wasabi Salt was combined with karaage (deep fried Japanese chicken) and Kizami Wasabi was on top of chicken breast skewers. Both dishes were superb with a wonderful balance in flavor and aroma.

If you’re ever in the South Bay area and looking for a place to eat for dinner, I highly recommend Hasu as a dinner option for the evening.
